After what seems like a very long summer with minimal korfball - the new season got underway yesterday with 5 games across all 3 divisions. The big news of the weekend was a win for newly promoted Farnborough against last year’s league champions Basingstoke. The other division 1 game was an Oxford derby with City beating local rivals Isis.
In division 2 (N) it is encouraging to see a number of 3rd teams joining the division this year. Oxford City 3 emulated the success of their first team and narrowly edged out Isis 2, whilst Abingdon 3 lost out to Didcot Dragons 2. In division 2 (S) a late comeback from Farnborough 2 wasn’t quite enough to secure all the points against Southampton City 2 as it ended all square.
