On Saturday 19th March 2016 the majority of the clubs from the WRL came to Aldershot to compete. Competition levels seemed higher this year than previous seasons with second place only decided in the final match of the league. The matches were followed by a social and awards evening where the trophies were presented. MVPs for each club were as follows:

Congratulations go to Bristol Thunder for winning again and to Southampton Spartans for retaining their Promo place.  We wish Thunder luck in the National Playoffs. Well done to WKA clubs for competing so well and coming back strongly from last season. Also it was great to see OKA enter only full club sides this season and commendable that the first Oxford City-only team only narrowly missed 2nd place. 

Thanks to all the referees for taking the time out to ref the matches and to all the supporting roles who ensure matches run smoothly.
And finally a BIG thank you to Andy Nye for organising the whole league this season - fixtures, Super Saturday, results entry etc. Great job!

Final places for WRL 2015-16:

Only 2 days after the Senior Inter Area trials took place the shiny new OKA kit has arrived. It is sporting the beautiful logo that won our design competition and compared to the previous thick woolly  jumper shirts these will hopefully give Oxfordshire an extra edge when they compete in May.

The Western Regional League Super Saturday is on 19th March 2016. It is taking place at Aldershot Garrison Sports Centre and will be the first time in 2 years all the WRL teams have competed in the same venue on one day.
We have the hall from 3pm until 7:30pm and the fixtures are as follows:

3:15pm: Bristol Thunder 2 V Cardiff University
3:15pm: Basingstoke V Cardiff Raptors
4:45pm: Oxford City V Cardiff Raptors
4:45pm: Southampton Spartans V Horfield
6:15pm: Southampton Spartans V Bristol City
6:15pm: Bristol Thunder 1 V Cardiff University.

Straight afterwards there will be a Social in Queen Victoria pub, Aldershot. This is a great chance to celebrate what has been an exciting and competitive league including some amazing performances.
