The OKA will be holding a Practical Referee Course on Sunday the 28th February at St Gregory the Great, Cricket Rd, Oxford, OX4 3DR between 11:00 and 14:30 after which there will be some matches where referees will be assessed.
The course is open to everyone who wants to know more about the rules of Korfball. You will get a hands-on course where you can listen to the experiences of an EKA referee and other referees from your local league and talk about situations you have found yourselves in when playing or refereeing matches. You will be able to enact those situations on the court to help explain your question. If you are a theory qualified referee and would like to gain ‘Q’ level qualification, then let me know and we will try to get you assessed OR if you are a ‘Q’ level referee, then why not come along and qualify for Regional Level. The timetable for the course is: 11:00 - Arrive at St Gregs, get the posts out, mark the penalty spot, the free pass circle and the penalty area and arrange the furniture for the comfort of the participants. 11:15 – Introductions and start of the course 12:30 – Lunch (bring your own lunch) 13:00 – Resume the course 14:30 – Start of match preparation 15:00 - Match 1: Oxford City 1 v Southampton Uni 1 – Referee to be assessed: Andy Nye 16:15 – Match 2: Abingdon 2 v Southampton Uni 1 – Referee to be assessed: TBA 17:30 – Match 3: Abingdon 1 v Southampton City 1 – Referee to be assessed: Vlad Stolojan 18:45 – Match 4: Didcot 1 v Oxford City 2 – Referee: Gorka (Abingdon) We will take breaks during the session as we see fit. |
